Why I built this
I started ShreyaVocabLabs after realizing that memorizing vocabulary often felt disconnected from how words actually appear in reading, writing, and argument. I noticed that I remembered words better when I could see them in context or associate them with a visual story, rather than a definition alone. This project began as an experiment: could visual storytelling, mnemonics, and tone-based organization make advanced vocabulary more intuitive and less intimidating?
What this project explores
ShreyaVocabLabs is a student-built learning platform that explores how visual memory and narrative cues affect vocabulary retention. Each word is presented with a clear meaning that stays visible, a mnemonic designed to create a mental image, a short example sentence showing real usage, and an animated visual to reinforce the idea. Rather than organizing words alphabetically, I group them by tone, character, and argument, reflecting how vocab appears in reading comprehension, literature, and persuasive writing.
